Professional background of the principal consultant:
Dr. Kevin LaGrandeur is an AI Ethics specialist and AI consultant. He is on the Board of Directors at the Global AI Ethics Institute, where he is Director of Research. He is also a Fellow of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technology, and is Professor Emeritus at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). Dr. LaGrandeur is a member of the founding editorial board of the journal AI and Ethics and has published more than 50 articles and media productions, in both professional venues and the popular press. He has also published two books: Artificial Slaves, which won a Technoculture Studies Prize, and Surviving the Machine Age: Intelligent Technology and the Transformation of Human Work, with sociologist James Hughes, which is about AI’s effects on jobs and how to adapt to these effects. Recent consulting projects include those as an expert consultant on Generative AI’s effects on employment for the EU Parliament’s Green/European Free Alliance Parties; and also work on a project for the United Nations regarding fair use of employees’ voice data.
